Hi runners! I'm doing my first marathon in less than a month. I've done 2-20 mile runs at 8:20something pace, one 21 at 8:12 pace and my last 23 miler at 8:24 pace. Thats comfortable for me...i'm not pushing it at all. Based on that and if i have a good day what could i hope to finish in? Oh and the course is FLAT FLAT FLAT. Any ideas? Thanks!!!! :-)
It's hard to tell with just the information on your long runs. It might be helpful to know your average weekly mileage for the last 8-12 weeks, what type of speedwork you've done, any other race distance times. That being said, I ran 2 21-mile runs at roughly 8:10 pace and a 23-mile run at 8:21 pace in my marathon buildup. On a fairly flat course (slight uphills in first 6 miles and miles 19-21) I ran 3:13 and change. I held a solid 7:15 per mile pace until around mile 20, fell off the pace for about 3-4 miles, then ran the last two miles a little faster than 7:15 pace.
