I'm not saying that the Ryan Shay Fund is necessarily a bad thing, but I just wouldn't trust a 'fundraiser' put on by someone who won't put a real, verifiable identity behind it.

So far the auction has been going well. Thank you for all your support. Yes all the money will be going to the Ryan Shay Memorial Fund. The higher the auction goes the more money it costs me (ebay, paypal fees) but I do not mind as it is a small gesture that can help other people.

If you have any doubts please check my ebay feedback and see that 1. the week in Flagstaff is real as I have had many satisfied customers and 2. that I am a very honest and trust worthy person. The last few months I have been doing alright business so thats why I can afford to do this.

I do not want anyone to doubt that I am not a real person or that the money will not be donated. All this does is lower the amount that will be going to charity.

If anyone still wants to be reassured please contact me and I have no problem telling you my name, school I ran for and such.

Great approach to PR. Why be transparent and forthright?

Sounds like a scam to me!! Why does your name have a "!" after one post but not the other!

The guy emailed me beforehand about the auction and I gave him Joe Shay's email. Plus he has sold 700+ things on ebay and has a 98% positive rating.

If he's a scammer, he's spent the last 3 years of his life planning this.

I was unable to log into my account so that is why I put a 1 beside my name. From now on I will make sure to log into adamruns so no one will doubt this is for real.

For the people that think it is a scam I ask why? Is it you do not think that there will actually be a room for you or do you think it is that the total money will not go to the Memorial Fund?

My business is too important to risk the buyer showing up in Flagstaff and there is no room for them.

My business is doing well enough that I do not need to boost one auction by saying that the money will go to charity and then keeping it.

To some it may seem strange to give money away to charity but this is something I wanted to do. I was able to book the room at a fair enough price where I could afford to list it on ebay and donate the full amount. The hope is that the room will go for more than what I could afford to donate on my own which in turn is better for the charity.

I hope that this eases the concerns of everyone interested.
