One thing I learned from Watergste is that it is easy for reasonably smart people to lie persuasively.
One thing I learned from serving on a jury is that people want to believe everthing they are told is true, particularly when the accused are professing their innocence.
I don't really know if Bonds deceived all that many people.
Clemens doesn't strike me as reasonably smart. More like a dumb jock. He's a desperate man and will lie to keep up the charade he's created.

one thing that annoys me is these cheats are rich and will not have to give their money back.
The majority of people don't really even care. They read the story, talk about it for a couple days and go about their life. NFL, MLB, and NBA are all setting attendance and income records.
I hope your right. I would hate to think there is someone out there who is NOT going to go on with the rest of their life because these guys cheated.

Very Good point. It's clear Rippy Cripple is one of those incredibly pathetic human beings who need constant attention.
If you were Clemens and were fasely accused of performance enhancing drugs and I think your reaction would be much different.
Clemens is not a good liar.
He had plenty of time to respond to George Mitchell when they were doing the investigation. Why not pick up the phone (or a quick flight to New York) to respond to the allegations? Because he is guilty, period. I would have more respect for someone who said, yeah, I did it and it was...........
At least his buddy Andy Petite came clean (well after the fact) although the "I did it to rehab an injury line is pretty late.
Pro sports are about as filthy as it gets.
