I heard the DS 11s were great, but the 12s were awful. Anyone tried the 13s yet, and if so, how were they? Otherwise, are speedstar IIs a good choice for a lightweight trainer? Any other suggestions (I'm not exclusive to asics but I do prefer them)?

I had the ds trainer 12 and I thought it sucked and I tried on the 13 and it feels the same. Solyte, which is the new foam asics uses is hard and i think it sucks. I have had like 5 pairs of the speedstar II and think they are awesome.
I like the Trainer, but haven't tried the 13s. I like the Speedstar. If you are over ~ 150-160, may prefer the Trainer, under that you would do well in the Speedstar.
the ds 12 and 13 are pretty much the same shoe, the sole of the two are identical the only difference in teh shoe is a makeover of the upper. The shoe still sucks and it still runs small. Asics needs to go back to the 10 and 11 platform a much better shoe.
I'm about 140-145 lbs, thanks for the input guys. I'll probably get the speedstars. About how many miles are they good for? I usually do about 7-800 in the 11xx series with no problems, so just wondering how long these will last me.
a lot less than that.
I knew that, but people have told me that the 11xx series are only good for 4-550 or so miles, and I seem to get quite a bit more out of them.
