Hi o wise and knowledgable ones,
I have no doubt that this question has been asked before and that a likely answer is that every athlete is different and that factors like age/ability/time running will all have an impact.
However is there a rough rule re expected improvements when increasing mileage/intensity.
For example, if I was to increase my 40mpw to 60mpw in a manageable way given time to adjust to increase etc. Would this 50% increase in mileage give me 5 or 10% improvemnt in times? Is there any point in asking this question?
I'm just trying to work out if it is worthwhile to put myself through the pain to reach an approximate goal. Also it might help to set achievable targets for the coming year.
