Black Socks, a new fad?

I am a 42 year old guy who just got a couple packs of black socks a few months ago. I am wearing a pair right now. I am still undecided if I like them or not. The horrors of seeing old guys wearing black socks with tennis shoes and cut off dress pants while working out still haunt me.

black socks are dope. especially the crew variety.

I've been wearing black socks, crew and minicrew, for years now.

New fad? It was a fad among British runners thirty-five years ago.

Are you kidding? Black socks and spikes/flats were huge in the 90's thanks to Eric Nedeau. I've never run a race wearing anything but bare feet or black socks with racing shoes.

Years ago, my neighbor used to cut his lawn wearing knee length black socks, cordovan dress shoes and short shorts-remember hot pants.

Amby Burfoot, Boston Marathon winner, Runner's World writer, wore knee-length black socks in the National x-c here in Ohio last weekend. Who would think a 60 year-old coot would be a trend setter?

I haven't owned any white sox since high school. Black sox never look filthy.

As you and I are about the same age and live in the same area of the country, I beg of you, please don't run while wearing black socks, and please don't wear black socks with shorts. I wouldn't want anyone to think you are me. Do you also have huge biceps like I do?
