is the '10' just an updated version of the '9'?

I hear a lot of people that loved the 9s hate the 10s. I own the 10s and think they're a pretty decent shoe if you're a heel striker. I switched to a forefoot / midfoot strike and didn't care for them anymore after training in flats for a while. Too heavy and the heel is a little too high. They do make a really comfortable everyday / around the house shoe though.
The WR 10 is alot different. For me at least. It sucked. Mizuno made it alot wider in the forefoot, and lowered the arch. Not the same shoe as the WR9. Actually the WR 11 just came out. It's supposed to be narrower in the mid/forefoot, but I tried it on and it's the same as the Wave Rider 10. Bummer! The WR9 is a much better shoe.
They also changed up the Alchemy quite a bit this year. I don't like it. Definitely not the same shoe.
And why do all of the Mizunos this year run so short? I had to go up a half size.
I agree that the 9's are much better than the 10's, but at this point it's near impossible to purchase the 9's. The 9's had a lot more forefoot cushioning, I felt like the 10's didn't last nearly as long, and the lack of cushioning in the forefoot makes the shoe not last as long. I got the Wave Creation 10, which I liked, but I heard they're discontinuing this shoe!
I thought the WR 11 was supposed to be much narrower than the 10? Even with the WR 10, the all white with red only trim from Winter Spring 07 fit better than the r/w/b colors of this past fall. This a very sloppy fit. Maybe the Precision is the way to go.
Is the Brooks Radius a comparable shoe? A bit narrower perhaps?
the wave rider 9 was such a different shoe from the 10. the wave rider 9 was a touch lighter, had a higher arch, and didnt have a beefed up heel like the 10's do. The 10's are somewhat stiffer and a little wider. I had about 14 pairs of wave rider 9's, and the 10's absolutely destroyed my achilles, even the short time I wore them.

I didn't notice too much of a difference between the Rider 9 and 10. I've always liked the Riders because of their low profile. I didn't think the heel was that high compared to other brands. However, I am a forefoot/midfoot striker, so I still had some problems. Now I wear the Idaten, which is a racing flat.
