This is an awesome addition to an already great website! I love it. But now I\'ll only be even more addicted to letsrun and have no life besides acutally running and coming home and being on letsrun alll day. And yes I do have a GF (fast runner) but it doesnt help that I got her addicted too! Great job guys!
Agreed that it's a nice addition to this site. Couple comments: get rid of the simple spelling errors (your should be you're as example,) and the Michigan women WERE 21st, not 9th in Terre Haute, so they get a Thumbs Down, not Up.
I think this was a good first effort at putting something journalistic on the site. A few grammar errors need to be fixed by the Ivy League graduate (there/their), but otherwise, the writing is good. I look forward to more.
I also don't believe that so many thumbs up and down should be given out, expecially to teams that don't have a good race. So they had a bad day, it happens all the time. Georgetown is the only team worthy, IMHO.
Lastly, seeing the photo of wejo's thumbs up (I assume) reminded me of George Costanza being a hand model-freaking hilarious.
Good work, Wejo. Keep at it. Don't be like Paula's blog.
I really enjoyed THE WEEK THAT WAS. Although, I do think it's a good idea to combine the team and individual high school races.
I would like to see a true national championship. Under the new system, this year, many excellent individuals cannot run in the Footlocker race. Under the old system, the last three years, some of the team runners had to travel too much. For North and Southeasterners it meant travel to the west and back twice in two weeks.
Factor in the missed school time (especially for the ones from states with higher standards in education) and it was asking too much of teenagers physically and mentally.
Some "food for thought": Wanjiru is very young. Will his body be able to take the punishment of high level marathon training? I hope so, but I remember the 92 Olympic Marathon Champ (Huang from S. Korea) he was young, I think 22, and his career ended soon after the 92 Games. Hopefully, Wanjiru will last a long itme.
Small error on Fayetteville-Manlius' girls team...they have one senior, two juniors, three sophomores and one freshman. NTN results botched many athletes' grades. For example, the winner of the race was a senior not a freshman. I don't know what they did, but they really messed that part up in the girls results. Keep up the great job LetsRun! I like the weekly highlights.

In case you read the story really early (which some of you did on this post), it was updated at 9 am this morning with a tidbit on Devine Racing and I have also corrected some of the mistakes on the NCAA side of things as we must have looked at some of the wrong results for part of it.

I was thinking that since this year is coming to a close, Letsrun should do a "The YEAR that was" for 2008. Do it just in the same format as The week that was, but make it span all the big stories of the running world in the year 2008. Some big ones that come to mind are The world champs, mens marathon trials, alan webbs AR, Ryan Shays death, the horrible weather at chicago, etc, etc.
