CROSS COUNTRY RACE AT NIGHT

where? any college races?

I can see an independant race setup like that, but have not heard of a college night x-c race.

there's a xc series in chicago during the summer. they're all in the evening...

memphis twilight is held at night, most fun race I have ever run.

a night race in terre haute in november is a terrible idea

Florida high school state meet was run at night for several years up until 1 or 2 yeras ago.

Queen Creek HS in Arizona ran a night invitational this past season. This is a great idea for our state as the heat can be overwhelming. Ellie Hardt, mom of Arizona State's Kari Hardt and Queen Creek soph ace Sherrod Hardt, coaches at Queen Creek and ran this meet.

Best race ever was the Florida state race at night. It was perfect I def wish they would do more races like it.

Wondering about lighting and setup for the Florida state race. Golf course with temp lights?

southern california has the woodbridge invititational where the best of the best line up under the lights on a FAST course....most fun meet 2 be a part of...check it out

No, not college, HS. In Aug. Centerville HS in Ohio holds a night meet complete with lights for the first meet of the season.

I've never been there but have heard about it. I'd like to see more places try it. LaVerne Gibson is not one of those places but it would be an interesting monumental endeavor.

flat soccer fields. not exciting one bit.

yeah there are college ones at night. i ran at the memphis brooks twilight invitational this year. christain brothers university puts it on. its a cool meeet.

Actually App State ran a race at night this year...I wasn't there but I know a few of the coaches who brough athletes to the meet - they said it was pretty cool!

The Brooks Memphis Twilight Cross Country Classic is the largest College Night time Race in the USA. We had over 45 teams this year from 12 states. Also we feature some of the best high school runners in the South( We have had Foot Locker qualifers and Nike Team National Qualifiers every year ). Results can be found at

We feature a 1 mile loop for the 5km and a 2km loop for the 8km. all races finish in a 6,000 seat stadium and yes its all under the lights at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex in Memphis, TN.

Brentsville Relays is a High School meet in Virginia that is a 5x2500m relay event held under the lights. It was the first meet I ever heard of that was held under the lights and the only meet I've ever heard of that is a relay. I haven't been but hear they get large, enthusiastic crowds of spectators.
