Is that really some great sign of success? We are being constantly told that this is a new era of great distance running in the USA, but without African transplants Meb, Abdi, and KK, the cream at the top would be mighty thin.
Paula R. ran 2:15, and we qualified only 13 that could beat her? And we are on the upswing???
Someone put this in historical perspective for me: in the past several Olympic marathon trials, how many sub 2:15 qualifiers did we have?
