How is this for a marathon training program for someone at 80 miles a week or above.
18 day cycle repeated 3 to 6 times before a 9 day taper
Day 1: 4 x 2 mile @ 104-105% of MP w 2 min jog recovery
Day 2: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 3: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 4: 10 mile Tempo @ 100-101% of MP
Day 5: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 6: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 7: 18-20 miles @ 90-95% of MP
Day 8: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 9: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 10: 6 x 1600 @ 110-112% of MP w 3 min jog recovery
Day 11: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 12: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 13: 3 x 3 mile @ 103-104% of MP w 3 min jog recovery
Day 14: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 15: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 16: 20-22 miles easy with last 3-4 miles @ MP
Day 17: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
Day 18: easy mileage (80-85% of MP)
And in true Hansons fashion substitute a 16 mile simulation run @ MP in place of one of the long runs about a month prior to the goal race.
