Arkansas stripped of '04 and '05 Outdoor National Championships

When UTEP was stripped of their NCAA Cross championship in 1983 there was declared "no champion" for that year.

Wisconsin was second.

I believe Florida was second both years.

In reviewing this case, the committee was particularly concerned that the university has had three appearances before the committee in the past 10 years, making the university a rare 'double repeat-violator.'

Which makes me wonder about the standards of integrity behind all those other championships.

Give me a better reason to hate the Razorbacks. These "minor violations" are a joke and It's clear that the NCAA had to throw Johnny Mac under the bus. The NCAA made a point in saying that they had to consider the prior major violations (basketball and football) when deciding the penalties for this case. I heard that the sprint coaches wife once bought Tyson Gay a B-Day cake as well. I guess this would be another violation. Oops! Better call the NCAA...Or maybe it was yellow cake! in that case you better call Richard B Cheney so he can launch an attack on Fayetteville!

wow! some of you people are complete idiots. it's clear that arkansas needs the meet officials to doctor the times so that they can get into nationals, surely they must rely on fake times so that they can get into nationals and then place well there. arkansas self reported violations stemming from a new coach who was bringing in one of his athletes. coach mac may not have been doing enough babysitting to see what his coaches were doing but nowhere does the NCAA say that he has done anything else, EVER, wrong! Schools are constantly trying to find violations to bring arkansas down and for years they've come up short. Again, this time it was self reported so it's not like they got "caught". Hell let's pretend that half of the titles should be taken away, still beats the hell out of anyone else.

The NCAA has become a complete joke.

Similar to when Syracuse beat Princeton for the NCAA Lacrosse Championship and then had it voided for a violation, the Championship didn't pass to PU.

I'm not and Hogs fan but I have to agree they threw them under the bus for sure. McD has more titles than anyone and they decided he wouldn't miss two if they stole them back.

Rupp gets paid by Nike, but that's OK. Nike owns the NCAA though.
