So I didn't want to train outdoors yesterday in So Cal because of the ashe so I had a friend give a me a 1 day free pass for 24 hour fitness so I could use a treadmill. Hence, I haven't been on a treadmill for around 2 years and I have been running close to 50 miles a week as of lately and ran a 1:26 half marathon a week ago.
Anyways I get on a treadmill and figure out to push quick start and just start running. The machine I was on was not calibrated right(which I didn't know at the time) and said I was going 1.2 miles per hour when it felt like I was jogging at about 10-12 minutes per mile to warm up. I ask the guy next to me who's running pretty good with his Ipod if he knew how to work this thing. He's like yeah, you are running at a pace of 50 minutes per mile. I am like this can't be right and he looked at me with this priceless look at said "I think you need to step it up a bit". Anyway, not that I am so fast but I could most likely run 13 miles at faster pace than this guy could run 2. I didn't say a word waited for another machine which fortunatly had a fan blowing at my back keeping me from sweating and more importantly was working correctly. I so rarely go into a gym it was like a time warp for me. See ya on the roads and the track!
