I have a question about the list of qualifiers. Next to some of the men and womens times their is an "a" what does that mean?
same type of question what does the "P" mean that is next to the time?

I believe Automative and Provisional times....Although, I do not know why Bosquaert has both next to his name.
a = assisted (as in down hill)
aP = point to point (as in possible wind assistance)
I was told "P" was pending.

I know P is pending, but why is it used here. These weren't record breaking performances and the courses should have been certified prior to race day.
Is it possible that the race needs to send some kind of documentation proving that the course is certified, the athlete didn't get a head start, use roller skates, etc.?
Grandma's Marathon, in particular, is "pending" because of race result malfunction. A bunch of guys got erased in the results because of the timing system malfunction. So, Bob Busquaret ran 2:20 and change, but he's not in the results on some copies. So, they are awaiting certification of his finish.

OK, checked with the RRIC. Apparently P is pending, but it is put there to denote that they are waiting on confirmation of the time or confirmation of US citizenship.
Ray,
I know how defensive you get anytime someone is critical of USATF so please take a deep breath before reading this. The P is next to people from the Grandmas Marathon in June. How in the hell does it take over 3 months to figure it out? I can guarantee that our governing body will claim that it is the races fault (they always do) however, I know one of the athletes involved and they received the correct results over 6 weeks ago in the mail.
