I'm 3 weeks out from my state meet. I'm in mid 17's shape, and I did between 60 - 65 mpw over the summer. Currently, during my season, I've maintained 50 - 55 mpw. What do I need to drop my mileage to in order to taper off for my state meet?

eventually u will probably drop to 25-30 mpw. make sure u do some sharpening workouts like threshold miles or downhill sprints.
We don't really taper. Instead, we do some strategic resting so that their bodies do the recuperation and rebuilding-when you feel like crap--well before the meet. The week of the meet we'll run relatively normal mileage.
We're 2 weeks away from State and 5 weeks away from NTN-SE. Most of my top guys have run around 50 during normal weeks and in the 30s during a recovery week. Here are our next 5 weeks:
40 w/ race-week workout of 2x200R/1x1600T/4x200R plus Region race
35 w/race-week workout of 2x200R/3x1000T/2x200R, State Meet
45 w/4x1miT early week and 12-16x200R late
40 w/5x1000I early week and 2x200R/8x400R/2x200R late
30 w/race-week workout of 2x200R/1x1600T/4x200R plus NTN-SE
