I have been swithing off 4 pairs on Speedstars 1 and 2 for the last 500 miles or so. They are my favourite shoe I have come across in a long time. I was thinking about branching out to another shoe that is similar in weight and especially in cushioning feel etc.
Those of you who like the speedstar, what else do you like?
Brooks Burn, Etc.?
I'm running in the New Balance 826 right now, and I have to say it's pretty close. Give them a whirl.
The Mizuno Precision 8 is my new go-to shoe. It's pretty amazing.

they are all the same really with differences mainly in the uppers
Stay away from the Sinister, that thing sucks. I have never worn anything more uncomfortable than that stupid flexion plate.
I wore the speedstars for a while but then switched to the nike skylon. I like the skylons better. Also tried on the nb 826 which felt VERY similar to the speedstar. The skylon has a softer feeling heel than either and they last a lot longer than the speedstars in my experience.
