With Eagon running, it's unbelieveably tighter, but I still give the nod to the Wolverines. There are only a couple non-Michigan/Wisconsin guys who will be in the top 15.

why dream after yesterday's Wisco disappointment? They are not running well right now.
Dreaming? If Wisco does win it won\'t be by a ton...Michigan beat multiple top ten teams without Lex Williams, their frontrunner from last year. It\'s Michigan\'s race to lose.
You do know they didn't run their top 4, right? How would Michigan have done if they hadn't run their 1-4 guys? Probably not too well. And definitely much worse than Wisco did.
Who are the four guys not running?
Will Lex Williams even run...I hear he's in pretty bad shape with his mono. I think Wisconsin should sit Eagon and cruise past a weakened Michigan team.
1/2 Eagon, 2/1 Withrow, 3 Lacy (second on team at Oregon), 4/5/or6 Bethke won the Open race. Bethke's time was only 24:17 but he was behind Nalli and Christmas of Michigan at 5k (who were leading the race) and then outran them by 25 and 35 seconds in the last 3k.
Wisco ran #5-11 in the Blue race and Shannon also in the Open race, where I think that he was in the lead group trailing Bethke and ran off course, but I do not know for sure.
If you slot Eagon and Withrow into the first several spots (I think that Bor was closer to Lomong than he was to Withrow at Oregon), then there might be 3 Michigan guys before the next Wisco guy, but the 3-6 guys could run within 2 seconds of each other and finish before the 4th Michigan guy.
Also, do not forget the Trent Hoerr/Ill, Rombaugh/Mead MN, See/Ealy Ohio State and a few others.
Also, do not forget about the Big Ten meet two years ago when the number 8th Wisco guy finished 9th; they take that race seriously and your comments might end up on a bulletin board somewhere in Madison.

I dunno why they run more than one meet a year. Why don't they just train right up to Nov 19th and stop geting fans hopes up that some serious running will be seen if you go to the meets.
I'll never forget watching the regionals two years ago when Bairu and those guys were in the pack laughing and motioning to teammates behind them...what a waste of time going to that meet.
Just cancel everything but Conference and Nationals.

Stu will only run NCAA's (injury and they don't need him at all).
I understand your thinking, but Wisconsin always takes the conference very, very seriously (espeically track). I almost think too seriously and they run too hard before NCAA's.
They should run together and finish 3-7 (easily) at conference. On an easy course like OSU's, that will be slightly harder than their long runs at the Arb.

Eagon is training again. I bet his first race is conference. If Withrow and Eagon are both at nearly full strength by conference, Wisco will win by a good margin.
I have it on good authority that Eagon is training hard and will be running Big Tens. Michigan might be better at 3 and 4 than Wisconsin, although we will have to see, especially #4 I am skeptical. It does not look like they will be better at either 1-2 or 5-6-7-8, and of course, 6-7-8 role in whenever 4-5 falter and also add to the 4-5 of others. I suspect that #7 for Wisconsin will come in before #5 of most teams and #4 of more than a few. I presume that people have seen enough Withrow finishes to know that if he is within 25 meters near the end it is likely Withrow that will prevail. Dual-meet format score 24/32, but of course, that is why they run the race (when was the last time you saw the UW men run a poor Big Ten when they needed to run well?).
All this talk of Michigan possibly winning; what about the Gophers. They do have the defending Champion and with the rest of the Big 10 teams being so down, the very upfront point (Withrow/Eagon) won't be so important with Minnesota's top 3 probably coming in next right?

I actually think OSU could get Minnesota for 3rd. I think Coach Gary just had a bad year with the new head position; they'll be ready (especially at home).
PS, there is no way Wisconsin doesn't win. I predict they'll have 5 guys in the top 12 if Eagon runs, 5 in top 15 if he doesn't.
Who will be the 9 running for Michigan? For Wisco I would imagine it would be:
Withrow, Eagon, Bethke, Lacy, Miller, Peacock, Wagner, Bolas, and Gasper or Craven.
That is a lot of talent. When is the last time Wisco lost? I don't see it happening this year.

Craven has looked awful so far.
Gasper and Wagner were alos sub-par at pre-nats.
Without Eagon and in more of a dual meet with Wisconsin/Michigan, Michigan can beat them.
Wisconsin's milers may not be good enough in cross country yet.
OSU will not beat Minnesota (unless it is football)!
