Has anyone tried this shoe. I love the DS trainer, but it's too damn expensive for my habits. Is the verdict similar to the trainer, and does it hold together fairly well over the miles?

I don't think the verdicts have as much cushioning as the trainer does. Putting more than 600 miles on them is probably pushing it, especially if you're not a smaller person. The verdicts are for medium to high arches so if you have flat feet you should stick with the trainer.
if you need the support of the ds trainer, stay away from the verdict. for $15 less your risking a lot of injury problems. ive been doing a decent amount of running in the supernova comp. by adidas, you might want to look into it. goes for either 80 or 85 (memory is foggy right now), is still as supportive as the ds trainer (if not a touch more) and is even a little bit lighter.
I loved the Gazelle, so I might take your advice on the Supernova Comp. I saw that the Adidas Rotterdam is similar, but slightly lighter than the Supernova Comp. Does anyone have experience with the Rotterdam? How did it hold up?
