Minnetonka, Mn.
This might be of interest. He was not HS superstar. Was just quite good after that.

for someone with pr's of 13:44 and 28:23, it seems like his performances at the HM and Marathon far exceed the level of those performances. I mean, Ryan Hall ran 13:16 and could probably run mid 27's and his HM is maybe 60 seconds faster than Kempainen's and they've both run a marathon in about the same time. Although, those were Hall's first HM and Marathon, so I imagine we'll see faster times from Hall in the future.
Would it be unreasonable to expect Hall to be capable of running sub 59:00 for the half and sub 2:07 for the full? His first at both were pretty dang good(59:43 and 2:08:24), and he'll only get stronger and better at those distances as he gets into his late 20's early 30's.

Bob attended Hopkins Lindberg H.S. in Minnesota, although I believe that he lived in Minnetonka, MN. I know his former junior high coach, Pat Lanin, who once told me he could be "pretty good" (understatement?!)
