I just came across these results, and while im sure its no age group record, it is still very impressive

Nice race, but of course the Garritsons put those age records out of reach. And that's probably a good thing.
Who the hell are those creepy Jesus-freaks? I love the informative National Enquirer articles on their home page.

In the 80s the kids of that family were running ridiculous times (for their age). Carrie ran something like 17:30 as a 10 year old, and went on to be an medoicre college runner at Alabama. None of them has done anything that I'm aware of since, except this website (assuming it's the same Garritsons).
check the runningusa.org - it has certified course times for all ages / genders. Here's one from 2006. The side has a few problems, like this might be a 10th grader, instead of age 10, but those can be researched, if that's of interest.

I had to outkick a 13 year old boy at The Great Race in Pittsburgh on Sunday........ he ran 37:45. At that age the idea of a 6.2 mile race was probably more frightening to me then AIDS.
I can still beat that 10 year old. Likely not for too much longer. I passed my prime a few years ago. This young lady will probably get faster and leave me in the dust.
Carrie Garritson ran a 2:49 marathon at age 11. Los Angeles I think. Her sister Heather supposed ran a 41 minute 10k at age 6. YIKES!!!!!
