I'd nominate Da Costa's 2:06 WR marathon as the most obvious case of doping never official caught. Anything top that one?

thing about this guy is he might be legit. I read in Sandrock`s book that he did 120mi for like years. Shit I do 150 just jogging for a week and my fitness is rising like crazy plus he doesn`t have a hang up looking like a skeleton.
I submit most of Geb's career. Bekele is gaining.
Flo Jo
i thought she was caught but let go at the trials
I'd say that DaCosta was completely legit.
On that day in Berlin, he was just having the day of his life, where everything was perfect, the stars in alignment for him.
He's first half was 1;04;40, something that he had done before in a marathon. The 2nd half (1;01 +) was just magical, with the magic being in the man, not a needle.
I think that the fact that he's been through hell since then, has not run sub 2;10 since then, and has been through 3 shoe companies (Nike then Mizuno now Adidas) says a lot. If he were on drugs, he should continue to excel.
Catch and release sounds like fishing. She was never busted for any drug use, so she got away with it.
Jarmila Kratochvilova.
East Germany
For an accurate up to date list of druggies not caught, look at the IAAF site and hit on "Women's World Records" Paula should sue them for being included with the rest.
Why? Her performance is way out of line, just like the rest. The 5k record is the softest and thats held by the Chinese
Maita Koch
Well, there are many candidates here, but the East Germans are surely tops. There is that legendary letter written by Barbel Wockel, who complained that she wasn't being given as many drugs as Marita Koch.
Michael Johnson
Kratochvilova
it was actually the opposite I think, Koch herself complaining in a letter about not receiving enough juice/boosters
It's a tie:
Jarmila Kratochvilova and Flo Jo
Eddy H....and the kid who just ran 26:30
I reserve judgement on Paula, because she has not yet been implicated in any doping scandals.

Hmmm, so anyone who has not been busted for something is getting away with...
Catchy logic there. Don't give up the day job yet.
Des Linden: "The entire sport" has changed since she first started running Boston.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Ryan Eiler, 3rd American man at Boston, almost out of nowhere
Matt Choi was drinking beer halfway through the Boston Marathon
