Does anybody know what the deal is with the Adizero RCs? Is the model discontinued? Are the Adizero Pros supposed to be the replacement (at $50 more)? Sucky sucky if that's the case.

What have you seen or heard that makes you think that the
RC-1's are being discontinued?
The Pro has a much harder rear section and weighs about .2
ounce more. Other than that and the price the models seem
identical.
The RCs are discontinued. That's what some Adidas guy who posted here said earlier. It certainly tracks because they're getting harder and harder to find. I stocked up.
The Pros weigh less (about half an ounce), not more. I don't think they are a replacement though.

As Average Joe noted, they're becoming scarce, even non-existent in some sizes. I guess I'll stock up. Even if the Pros are suppsed to be the RCs' replacement, I don't think I'll wear them. Not for $110.
I have them both and the Pros simply are not adequate as a replacement for the RCs. The Pros do not have the forefoot cushioning that the RCs have. I love them both but I can wear the RCs even in a hilly marathon. Not doing that with the Pros.
Joe maybe you are right about thr Pros weighing about a half ounce less than the RC's. On roadrunner sports the Pros are listed at 6.4 ounces and the RC at 6.2 ounces.
I believe the above weights are for Mens size 9's.
I only know it because I weighed both of mine. I'm a bit of a shoe geek so I tend to do stuff like that. I wear size 10.5 so The weight difference between the two models might be less at the traditional sized used for shoe weights (9)
there are several adizero flats in the current catalog:
adizero pro
adizero PR
adizero mana (medially posted)
adizero LT
adizero RC (also called adizero RC DC on the box)
Next year, the adizero pro gets changed, the adizero RC and PR get new colors (but are the same shoes as the current ones) and I think the adizero LT may be getting the axe. There is a new, heavier more trainer like adizero coming out as well (CS maybe?) that i think is already available in Europe or asia or something.
Thanks a lot for that post Store Guy. I was really concerned about the RC's going away. I'm sorry to hear that the LT's are probably getting axed though. The LT is a very good lightweight trainer, at least for my feet.
Store Guy, thank you for the information! I am very relieved to hear that the RC isn't going away and that it isn't going to be substantively changed.
