komen is still thje only guy under 8 for the two mile as far as I know, and I think he did it twice.

There is no one currently running that will get within 2 or 3 seconds of that record. Bekele even fully doped up couldn't get that close. So it will last into foreseeable future.

The best deal I've heard of was $1,000 US Dollars but the deal also include 300 Mexican Pesos, a very fertile male goat and an extra wife for the pacemaker (also very fertile). The wife and goat were only to be delivered if a world record was set. Lucky for him it was.

A buddy of mine recently tried to rabbit a race with Meseret Defar and negotiated to sleep with the winner for payment compensation. He was rejected as a rabbit but was awarded a restraining order.

Speaking of rabbits: Komen was the beneficiary of one of the most spectacular performances by a rabbit when he set the 3000m record. John Kosgei went through 2000m in 4:53.7 in that race. The 2000m isn't run very often, but for the sake of comparison, that time is only about a second and a half slower than Spivey's American Record.

So you would need a pretty special runner as a pacesetter if you wanted to have a shot at Komen's record. Not that the record is going to be broken any time soon: El Guerrouj, Geb, and Bekele have all taken shots at it haven't come close.

Have organizers stopped the the use of rabbits?

Did motram not run less then 3 seconds off the world record in the 2 mile; 8:01?

I'm pretty sure I can break it if someone agrees to pace me through. . . I've been training pretty hard lately.
