Hello all.
I am running now for 3 years starting at a 5 k at 30 minute's and now being able to run 16:45.
My time's came down quite fast till summer this year, mostley i train for 2 marathons during winter, one in november and one in march (Rotterdam).I started at 4:30 next 3:16, 2:59 and last one in 27'C at 2:53.With better conditions i feel like i would have been able to run 2:45 or faster.
The last was this year spring and since then goth down my 10k from 35:45 to 34:45.
This is mainley of 100K average a week in marathon preperation and 70K in the summer during track and 10k to half marathon.
This winter i want to up the 100K a week to 120 and hope to run 2:45 in November and under 2:40 in april.
My program for the coming marathon season looks like this.
M 26k at 13 p/h
T Interval session at club, between 400m ab 1600m repeats.
(I run these in winter at HM to 10k pace)
W 12k at 55 min.

F 26k progressing during the season to 35keasy:12 p/h
S morning 9k easy evening 17k by feel, goal is starting easy and ending in HM pace.
S morning 15k verry easy at 11p/h afternoon hill bouncing and sprinting.
Total is around 135k, to make average of 120 all season with rest weeks or race weeks included.
Sometime's i replace the club interval by my own wich are long marathon tempo intervals like 5 * 2k towards 3 * 5k 2 weeks before the Matarhon.
Summer training is more like tis
M 15 times 200m at 33 seconds with 200m rest or hill bouncing and sprinting.

W 12k at 55 min.

Now my question is, am i going the right way here? last year my 10k time didnt went down so mutch(from 35:45 to 34:45). And i have the feeling that maybe it would be better to focus one winter on more quality and power training to get down my track time's an so being able to run a faster 5 and 10k also.
Beside that i am a lydiard fan and feel the need to make a good base in winter to run a good spring marathon and develope speed in summer, but is this realy working for me as it should?
This year i raced on track for the first time and lowered my pr for 800m from 2:28 in the beginning of the season to 2:12 at the end but 10k stayed the same.
I now feel mutch faster and have more than enough speed to open the race at 32:30 pace for 10k but then have no aerobic power to bring it to the finish.
How do i keep my speed during the winter/marathon training so i can move on next summer where i am now.
And should i feel fresh during this marathon training or is it ok to feel aut of power for some time.
It wonders me why i feel so good during the first 26k after doing nothing like this the whole summer and then after some weeks of marathon training i have to slow down the pace and feel more tired after a 26k.
Does this mean that i did to mutch to fast and have to back of or do i need to keep the hamer down knowing that i get to feel better after some weeks.Note, i dont get injured, just get tired and feel the power disapearing from the legs, wich always come's back after lets say 2 to 3 recovery days with none or less running.
As you see, manny quistions in my head, can someone make a clean up in this mental mess.
My goals are a 2:30 marathon and get to the national level for 10k(29 to 31 min), or yust being able to say i goth the maximum from my running life.
