I read once where Todd Williams lived off Diet Coke. He hated to drink milk or plain water or even gatorade, unless he had to (like in a race).

No, there are no sub 16 guys who ever drink soda.
all i ever did was drink soda and ive run a few 5k's just under 16 min. but ive recently given it up entirely because of problems with stress fractures and other injuries
i drink soda and I have run 14:53. It is a good idea to drink water as well.
i run 13:17 and i have been drinking soda since i was 9 months old. my parents would feed it to me via bottle. shit was mad niggarish and we were broke ass motherf***ers. pepsi, coke, sierra mist, the dew, i didnt discriminate. everything found its way to all of my oriphises. i love you and good night. love, Bolota.

I used to chug a couple Mt Dews before 800s back in the day. Then I wondered why I'd feel amazing, running with some good guys through 600 meters indoors then the last lap just getting ridiculously tight and running 2:03s...
Then at Kent State I was gonna run around 4:20 and bombed the last lap, ran like a 4:31 and got passed by 10 guys in the last 150 meters
Needless to say, I stopped doing so soon after
I have a pr of 15:01 and i probably average a 2 liter bottle a day
