Geb ran an 800m once and wasn't at all impressive (relative to his other performances). Look at his PBs from marathon down to 1500m and you get a clear picture of that. KBs PBs take a similar shape. The training Dr Wolde has his guys doing means they get longer rest between shorter efforts as he believes this reduces the risk of injury. So while they can boot it at the end of a 5K/10K they are not likely to be so quick over distances such as 800m. (BTW they focus on their speedwork in the winter, hence Haile's indoor 1500m win).
Someone has mentioned Mottram's 800m speed. He's a different beast. Nic Bideau says, 'a good wide range, very good anaerobic power and also good over long distances.'
