"Blinded by the light, racked up like a deuce another roner in the night"--written by Springsteen but performed by ????
Also from the Eagles:
"the stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast"
The story behind this one is that the guys from Steely Dan and the Eagles were always bagging on each other in their songs. The girlfriends of the SD guys liked the Eagles so SD based on them in some song and the Eagles replied with this above line from Hotel California. Of course, Steely Dan is the nickname for a woman's sex toy, so I'm going to give this battle to the Eagles.
My vote would be for "placenta" by Live, in lightning crashes or whatever it's called. Sounds far too clinical even for a serious song.
I believe John Fogerty used a word like "Schmoogle down to New Orleans". When asked by Conan O'Brien what that meant he said he didn't have the foggiest idea.
Delilah in 'Hey There Delilah.' Did I mention that song is about a former runner???

Written by Springsteen and performed by Springsteen -- and others, notably Manfred Mann.

End of thread.
Take your pick with the Red Hot Chili Peppers lyrics..........
This thread reiterated how overlooked Elvis Costello is. I am not sure that he would "win" the OP's question but the guy's lyrics contain words that defy pop but yet he pulls it off. Anesthetize? come on.
pataphysics - Beatles, Maxwell's Silver Hammer, a made-up word by Alfred Jarry (?)
