1:49.26 in prelims of Big 12 at Baylor (13 May 2006).
I will vouch for Leo. that 149 at big xiis was from the back. Jogged the first 600 and hten rolled everyone up. He is very capable of a 145
Yeah, with a perfect tactical race he probably would have run 4 seconds faster. Sure...
Does this get him the 800 time-trial gold medal? Where did he place in the 12X400 with 60 seconds recovery?
it is just a flocast blog, why the hell would he lie? he prolly got a rolling start and put the hammer down. he seems like one of the nicest and most sincere dudes out there.
from what I recall, Manzano negative split that 800 in waco, going out in 55 and coming back in 54. don't put 1:45 past him one year later.
Yeah, and in high school he ran 1:50.xx for the 800 with his 1500/Mile PR 15-20 seconds slower than it is now. 1:45 is quick, but I'd be surprised if he wasn't at least 1:47.xx, and I would expect 1:46 low.
Maybe a 1:47! He does have wheels though...
of course a 145 is realistic.. do you know what a time trial is?? running start... rabbit through 500-600.. no traffic.. plus hand timed so probably really 146.. definitely believable..
Does this thread remind anyone of the original Rexing thread??
Here's what he wrote:
Hey guys, I just got done packing for Osaka. Its been a busy day. Finished with summer classes and ended the day with a good work out. Well more like a time trial. Ran an 800m somewhere in the midst of 1:45. I felt good, ive really been hitting the strength/weight training and i think im in the best shape of my life.
I leave for Osaka Tomarrow morning..
C ya from Osaka!!!
It is very hard to negative split an 800.
It's not hard to negative split 1:49 if you are capable of 1:46/1:47.
You'd figure that he would at least log his time to the tenth of a second for something like that.
I believe a 3:35 guy can run a rabbitted, running start time trial 1:45.
And he should get a practice medal.

No it isn't.
If you look at the comments below Leo's blog post Trey Hardee posted splits of 52.5/52.7 for 1:45.2 Even if it was hand timed that is still 1:45.5 or better. The kid is crazy talented and 1:45 isn't out of the question for someone of his talent level and the speed he has displayed at the end of races for his entire career.
And I figure if the NCAA champ was there and warmed up with him the time is most likely legit.
Leo's style is very similair to Kenenisa Bekele's
Why even post that you ran a 1:45 TT. Just say that training is going really well and I hope to make the final. When he misses the final (which he will), people will just start shooting him down and say he left it all on the training track. What has Webb been doing for training???? Nobody knows..all we do know is that he has run 1:43/3:30 and that's all that counts.
Maybe he meant he ran the 800 at 1:45pm in the midst of his busy day.
