OK, so I have been injured quite a lot in my running life so getting back from injuries is something I have become fairly used to (usually with just rest, or perhaps aqua training). But now I have been 'out' for just over a month. And I found the recent threads on cycling quite interesting as I have been out almost every day on the bike in an attempt to maintain fitness. (I tried, as someone suggested, to use lower gears but found that I generally wasn't working anywhere near as hard, although I was puffing maybe just a little more).
Anyway I have just got back running and now I am really struggling. I seem to have lost all of the control, fluidity(?), and ability/fitness that I had before. Now I know that it is to an extent to be expected, but I feel I have nothing left in the tank at the moment. Just as it was a big shock to my muscles when I jumped on the bike and did hard sessions, it now feels (as I got v. used to the bike) a BIG shock to my legs once again as I return to running.
What kind of runs should I do to get back to fitness? Today I sort of struggled with just a 1/2 hr run which was at a reasonable-ok kind of pace.
Any advice/previousexperiences/ideas/abuse...?...
Appreciated in advance. (Obviously not any trolling or abuse)!
