I've been cross-training on a stationary bike for the past 2-3 weeks because of an awful groin injury. My workouts are usually pretty intense (20-40 miles with my HR ranging from 150-190 at least 6 days a week) and I am burning more calories than I normally do when running. But the scales seem to indicate different, as I have actaully gained 3-5 pounds since my injury. I don't feel fatter, so I'm wondering if all that pedaling is creating more muscle density in my quads. I'm starting to feel pretty crapy about not being able to run. Has anyone else ever experienced something like this? Thanks a lot.
