Robin Williams: XC Runner?

i heard he was a mid-1:50s 800 guy in hs.

dana carvey too.

There were are number of running stores in San Francisco and Marin that could all tell you of times that he had stopped in to buy some shoes.

he ran for redwood high school in larkspur, ca.

holds the 4x400m school record

Robin Williams is now making some of the worst movies ever made. No amount of cross country will cure that.

I worked at a Fleet Feet years ago and he bought a pair of shoes from me while filming in town...

I think he's into cycling now

Just watch his comedy special again and it will give him some redemption.

Was this in Carrboro by any chance, during Patch Adams? I lived there during that time and remember hearing stories of him buying shoes from the store.

Sad that he is gone.

He cycled as well. Those Redwood distance times, like most of the other Marin County times, are still almost all from the 1970s.

The Junior College, er, Community College in Salinas California is Hartnell. The Head Track Coach at Hartnell for 35 years was a guy by the name of Gary Shaw. The only other coaching job Gary ever had would have been at Robin Williams' high school. Gary was a former Half Miler himself. About 20 years ago, he told someone I knew that Robin Williams used to chatter and jabber incessantly as a way of annoying his competitors. That sounds about right!

They are, but that particular records sheet was last updated at the end of the 2000 track season. I'm pretty sure that at least Jake Schmitt would have made a spot on one of those distance records in the mid to early 2000s.
