What do you think that Alan Webb could run for 100m from the blocks?

I watched him run 22-high during a workout in 2001. I think he could run 11.2-11.4
11.4

Yeah, 11.4 ish from blocks, 10.9 roll on...
Mediocre highschool sprinters can run 11 flat. I am sure that he could run a 10.6-10.8.
I wouldn't say 11 flat would be mediocre if it's FAT. That's pretty good. With the discrepancies of hand timing I'd agree with you, though. I wouldn't be surprise if Webb was 11.3ish FAT in the blocks/10.8ish rolling start, he's pretty quick.
I'd be surprised if it were faster than 11.5 FAT from blocks, assuming he had no background in starting from blocks.

mediocre high school milers can run 4:30. i am sure that mo greene could run a 4:10-4:15.
so how much keystone have you had to make you think that?

Well done!
9.53
Webb could hit 11.5. Heard it from Coaches that knew SR.
His PR was 23.6 or something for the 2.
he could probably go a little bit faster.
doesn't really matter, those are near where a 47-46 400 guy should be.
47.7 for 400m split- so maybe 48.5 in the open, now, maybe 47 high.
He's not the fastest, but he's pretty damn fast. 1:42 is within his grasp if he works on the 8. He could go after the world records in the 1k, the 15, the mile, the 2k and probably break them all in the next 5 years.
He could win medals in the 15 and 5k throughout his career, maybe even the 800. Best quess is he stays with 8/15 for 2008 and moves up in 2012 to 15/5k. He'll win olympic medals, just not sure on the color.

Webb has shown some sprinting ability from his kicks recently, his 1:45.8 800 and his 47 sec 400 in HS.
Mo Greene never showed any distance ability.
are you guys really serious??? he split 47\'s in high school so he could have run right around 48 flat in high school for an open. umm... that\'s 4 12\'s in a row. and you dont think he could have run 11 flat for a single one? and he\'s just a LITTLE faster now than he was then. he can run 10.8. and that mo greene analogy is completely different than the webb analogy. mo greene has no need for endurance, but webb needs to have speed to kick at the end of races.
Pi times the square root of 12
= 10.88 seconds
didnt he also bust out a 12 in the middle of a race? (WC)
i heard 11.9 on some post somewhere, but yea, made for a good laugh at least, one of the funniest races ive watched
i like webb, but i had trouble feeling bad for him there
With blocks or without? Fat or Hand? Mondo surface?
You're confusing FASTER in the 1500m with FASTER in the 100m. Just because you improve in the 1500m doesn't mean you improve in the 100m. In fact, he's probably gotten SLOWER in the 100m.
Also, 48 flat in the 400m is NOT 4 x 12 in a row. It's more like 13, 12, 12, 11. From a dead start I'd say somewhere between 11-12.
Also, how many high school meets have you guys been to outside the state of Cali or Texas? If you run 11 you're a 100m guy in high school.
Also, you are confusing SPEED with STRENGTH. You don't need to be fast to kick in the 1500m. You just need the strength to run top end speed at the end of a 1500m. You think he's closing in 11.0 at the end of a 1500m? I don't. By the time you reach the end of a 1500m race your SPEED is gone. Your CP stores are long gone by then and that is what makes a sprinter sprint. Of course a 1500m runner is going to need some speed, moreso than a 5k or 10k runner, but not 11.0 speed.
3:30 1500m is an avg of 14 per 100m. I'd say in a 100m dash out out of blocks, 11.5-12.0
Your running knowledge is truly dismal
