suppose that there was a haile geb or hicham el guerrouj equivalent- consistently dominant on the world level, WR holder, olympic/world champ- who happened to be a white american..... how much money would you expect that person to make?

16 over 4 years, another 2 bonus for winning another oly or taking down a WR.
sponsors out the ass too; probably would have taken some of the light away from lance
He doesn't have to be a white guy. An African-born-American will do. Some of the highest paid athletes in the past two decades were not white: Tiger Woods, Jordan, now Michelle Wie. The question is how marketable is the guy. I don't think T&F atletes are nearly as marketable as golfers, basketball, baseball, foozeball etc. ragardless of the number of records broken and gold medals won. So I say no more than $15mill lifetime.
Jesus, he'd be bigger than Jeremy Wariner.
A white American would still make more money in T&F; the demographic for T&F, specifically LD running, is mainly white. If Jordan was white...
If Jordan was white, he'd own Ft Knox.
i dont see why he wouldnt be as famous as lance armstrong, i think more ppl can relate with running than with biking
lance is only famous not because of cycling but because he has one testicle and still was able to win 7 tdf titles.
probably about 5% of the next undisputed white heavyweight champion
Boxing is a mess but aren't all four of the major heavyweight belts held by Russians right now? Being white and heavyweight champion isn't that big a deal right now.
I wonder what an out of shape talk show host like Oprah could make or Tiger Woods or Oscar De La Hoya could make if they were only Asian.
When you think of a fast agile and explosive athlete you usually think of an athlete of African decent. So what if a white American came along who was Olympic champ and 100m record holder (9.71). If "the fastest man in the world" was a white American and had a personality how much would he make? Would he be a household name?
His name is Alan Webb.
