Why did some of the Nike singlets have RED swooshes and others had BLACK ones?

Here is a better example of what he was talking about...I had the same question myself. Anyone have a real answer as to why some athletes had black or red swoosh?

This picture shows two Nike runners, one with a red swoosh and one with a black swoosh. I know they are not the same style but they are the same uniform (color and design).

Just wondering if anyone had any idea why Nike decided to change the coloring on some uniforms. Looking through the pics the different colored logos are on all the different unis (bra tops, singlets, speed suits, etc.) so that isn't the answer as far as I can see.

Wow i am sorry i offended you so much, i never knew a simple question could make someone so upset.

First of all they are not different uniforms, like i said they are just different cuts of the same uniform. They are the current yellow and black uniform that the Nike elite athletes wear. It is simply interesting that Nike would make some with black logos on the tops and some with red logos. Obviously different collegiate teams would have different colors on their uniforms but not the pros.

We were just wondering if there was a significance of the different logos. Possibly former champions, national leaders, top seeds, etc etc. I am not saying those are the answers but it would be interesting if there was a significance to the color difference, if there isn't then that is fine but you clearly have no idea what, if any, significance there is so just stay out of the conversation.

They are ALL DIFFERENT RACING KITS. The Green/Yellow w/ Dots is for the sponsored athletes.

Swooshy, you are deranged to come up with that for a troll post. I mean, you really must think very shallow to come up with something like that. Usually a troll poster will come up with something that makes you laugh. Obviously, you don't have a girlfriend to have trollish thoughts about the meaning of the different logo colors.

But with the pro uniforms most have a black swoosh, but some people have a red one.

I noticed that Tegenkamp, Sikes, Willard and Solinsky all had red swooshes. As I said, most have black.

The pic attached shows Sikes with a red one, Fleshman with a black one.

And here's Willard with a red swoosh and Anderson with a black one.

just a guess, but it appears there are two different colors when Nike has more than one runner in a race...now sometimes runners take off their singlets, so it could be so they don't confuse the two....just putting that idea out there.

like Webb is all like, "dude where's my jersey, AHHHH AHHHH WOOOOO!!!! where's my jersey WOOOO!!!"

and Lagat's like "eh man, eh, I had red swoosh"

and then Webb's like "wooooo WOOOO!!! black swoosh there you are"

I was gonna guess that athletes wore red if they were just out of college, except then I saw Teg...

Come on, we have been through this before.

Red is for the "natural" runners, and black is for the "drug enhanced" runners.

It is kind of like body building, to let everyone know who is on PEDs and who not.

Maybe the uniforms were made in different factories. The little 12 year olds working there might have loaded the wrong color thread onto the bobbin.

I believe it is probably for level of contract.....how much they get paid in addition to getting the kits. Some of the athletes like Teg & Solinsky are relatively new to the Nike group, whereas Webb and Lagat have been Nike athletes for some time now.

Also, the athletes that have been on contract for some time have access to that gear before the other athletes that were just picked up. You see that alot in road races. Last year the green white, & blue that Goucher & Lagat were wearing was different from the other Nike athletes at the same meet, and it seems to be the level of sponsorship that they have. With the Nike athletes, it seems as if the big names (Like Michael Johnson,Kennedy, Webb, Ritz, etc) have something a little bit different than the 2nd tier sponsored Nike athletes.

The other thing it might be is the rep who signed them. They all have different territories to get athletes signed, so that might be it as well. Just a thought.

no, because the women's steeplers with the black swoosh just signed this week. i think you guys are trying to read way too much into this....

The original poster had a good point. My guess is that the black swoosh is not that visible as it fades into the black background and red is a take to improve this. Fact.
