So why do people hate Christians so much?

Possibly because they don't understand it, or they have seen poor examples in the past.

I really couldn't tell you why certain people hate another group of people.

people have always hated other groups and always will. Its because everyone is different.

Wait a second...being different from someone else gives you license to hate them? That is one of the saddest things I have ever heard.

Holly, you believe Jesus rose from the dead and was born into this world by a virgin, you are insane poor girl! By virtue of being a Christian you must also believe that a god created the universe for the purpose of personal interaction and salvation. Do you really believe in some realm where god sits at a giant chair just answering prayers and condemning souls?

I don't want to make any claims to know that this is not the case but I have to think that, based on the evidence this god has presented (none), you must be crazy to buy into this stuff.

It might be sad to hear but there is no avoiding it. One group of people will alwas find a fault with another group. Has happened since the existence of man

Scientology started out as a joke.

Became a tax dodge.

And stating that life is a chemical reaction between elements is better? Saying life started as nothing more than basic molecules that bounced around to form sugar molcules, proteins, and fat sounds more sane? Stating that all the things we have done and created in life is nothing more than chance sure does sound alot better than believe in a god of any sort.

I'll tell you what's insane. Telling other people that their view on the creation of the world is wrong when no one has been there and all we can do is guess. Oh yeah, that sounds real sane.

I know what I believe. That God created the Universe. God wanted companionship and that is why he created man. He also created a campanion for man. God sent a human version of Himself in Jesus out of grace, love, and mercy for man because we sin....our sin causes us to fall farther and farther away from God. According to the Bible, those who choose to believe in Jesus will have eternal life. Every Christian goes into a relationship with God knowing that they will likely make more enemies than friends. That's a given. I am not looking for your approval...I have God's approval and REAL love. Those are far more satisfying than anything in this world could ever be.

You can call me insane or tell me that I'm crazy...it comes with the territory of having faith in something far greater than human comprehension. To have faith in something supernatural and divine isn't an easy thing, but millions of people do it for a reason. They are not misguided or brainwashed. God doesn't force people to believe in Him. He made us free thinkers who make decisions and live with the consequences (good or bad) of those decisions. Of course He wants everyone to experience the love that He has to give, but I agree that it's hard to give into something that you don't understand as a human being. Life is so much more than just the physical realm.

Every single person in this world will one day wonder to themselves what the purpose of life is and what it is all about. Whether they believe in Evolution, Energy, Balance, God, Xenu, Jesus, Buddha...they are searching for something that this world cannot satisfy. Just because a certain group of people chooses a different path than you doesn't make them insane. At least they have the capacity to search for the truth and exercise faith in something.

Every single day I am reminded of God's handiwork. All I have to do is look out my window at the mountains and at the trees. He makes His presence crystal clear day in and day out. There's more to this life than just living and dying. That is what I believe. People who choose to mock those who put their faith in something greater will remain close minded. It's a lot easier to "hate" something and make fun of things that you don't understand.

Hate?Just because someone says it's ridicolous doesn't mean he/she hates it.

And yes people who believe in Christianity(literally) or Astrology or Ghosts are insane.

And please don't confuse science with Religion, science is a self-critical permanent evolving process while a Religion makes assumptions out of nothing and no matter how many times it turns out to be wrong it still claims to be perfect.It's fascism, uncritical blind submission to a leader that claims to punish freethinking people in afterlife.

Not all religion believe in an afterlife.

Not all religion asks for uncritical blind submission to a leader.

Not all religion claims to be perfect.

And maybe most importantly, religions' primary purposes are not addressing the same sorts of questions as science answers, so to compare them is apples vs. yodelling.

Of course science is better at answering science questions. And guess what: so far, billions of people have found religion better at filling the needs it always has.

Sure, there's some amount of, call it superstition, caught up in these religions that a thinking 21st century adherent has to accommodate or overlook or question or laugh at. Or in some cases interpret as parable and metaphor, not literal scientific fact.

Bottom line: plenty of people smarter than you or me have been religious including some very notable scientists; plenty more have been atheists. So it doesn't seem to be a matter of whether one is clever enough to see that science is for real and religion is a sham.

I think science and religion can and do co-exist. A lot of things that have happened in the bible have been well documented OUTSIDE of the text of the bible. Christianity certaintly does not claim perfection for anyone or anything other than God. You couldn't be more wrong when you say that belief is "uncritical blind submission." Maybe for some, but most people want to know the details, they want to know why, and they are seekers of the truth, they question, and they recieve answers. Please don't pretend to be an expert on a religion that you are completely ignorant about.

If they knew that their master Jesus was just lying to them, and the whole idea of him being the messiah was just bogus, why would they give their lives for it? 11 out of 12 apostles were martyred. Why would they die for a lie? No one would do that. They knew this was the real deal, so they preached it, and eventually died for it.

What kind of arguments does Scientology have? It was made by a sci-fi writer as a joke... He probably would have told the followers that, but he died before he could tell them...

Muslims caused 9/11. Say this out loud "Muslims came into our country, and unprovoked, they murdered tens of hundreds of innocent people." This is the truth that people like you want others to forget. Never forget the victims of 9/11...

Hey fascist it's not relative but it's up to debate and democracy, Christians thought for a long time that slavery is right till someone said no it's not, Christians thought for a long time it's ok to kill "witches" till people started to debate over it, Christians thought that women are inferior and should have less rights till...

Be happy that people just didn't accept what's "right" or "wrong" according to the current beliefs.

Perhaps you need to look up the definition of fundamentalism. And then understand how the actions of fundamentalists, regardless of which religion they profess, do not reflect on the religion as a whole.
