Not in a million years
I think Solinsky has a lot of upside after college. He was a solid runner in HS, he was a solid runner on college, and I think he will continue to improve and be a very solid runner at the international level. Will he be as good as Teg? Well... thats hard to say, because I don't think we know just how good Teg is yet. Certainly we know he is quite good, 8:07 and 13:04, but I don't think that is where Teg will stop. I think the only reason people might not think Solinsky will be as good is because he is so consistent in winning that we just expect him to, and the only time most of us really notice is when he doesn't. He isn't like Ritz or Webb or Teg or Goucher- he hasn't hit many rough patches yet. In fact, the only real one I can think of was this past XC season, and even that was just two races.
Tegenkamp ran 13:04 last year and he's clearly a better runner than that now, and his goal of running sub-13:00 on July 10 in Lausanne is a realistic one. As good as Solinsky is and as much as he can improve, being better than Tegenkamp could be elusive.
Tegenkamp's body-type is perfect for being a high level international runner as well. I don't think you see as many world-class runners with Solinsky's bulky frame. Perhaps he will become more lean with more milage in his post collegiate years.
Interesting, do you think he will break the American record there?

I can't wait to see what Teg will do next. And I'm sure he can't wait to find out either.

Well, maybe in less than a million years.
On another note, congratulations to Matt Tegenkamp who is now the father of a baby boy...
Hey Chet....did it feel good to find this post?...and then make a response....as to show them?
Hey RU, did it feel good to find my response and then respond?
Hey chet, did it feel good to find that response from RU that was responding to your original response and then respond?
Hey Turd, did it feel good to find that response from me which was a response to RU that was responding to my original response and then respond?
Hey Chet, did it feel good to respond to the post that was responding to the response of your response?
Clearly a classic example of a troll circle jerk.
And yes, it felt good to respond.

He's still not on Tegs level until he wins US Championships, makes Olympic teams and finishes as high in the finals.
The 10K is a huge step in the right direction, but not a whole lot better (if) than 12:58. It just felt that way for so many white westerners, but ask the many E. Africans who have run under 27 off of relatively few attempts but are still banging on the door to 13.
Lets hope they both keep pushing the envelope with the rest of the P-town crew.
We have more guys that can carry the concept of integrity, work ethic and courage than ever before in the USA. The next few years will be something that we have not seen for at least 30 years. Since they had no clue 30 years ago, it will actually be a much greater accomplishment in the next few years.
who is Will Solinsky?
I’m a D2 female runner. Our coach explicitly told us not to visit LetsRun forums.
