I keep on getting a pop for some computer cleaning software when I visit letsrun. Anyone else have this problem?

I'll second that. Seems like someone has gotten in the gravy.
Being a little suspicious of my own system I ran a virus check on my machine and found nothing.
something about tracking adult sites, etc even though I am CERTAIN no adult surfing has been happening on this end....
Yup, me too. Did the virus check and came up empty. More than a popup on my machine. Took the whole page down too.
yep me too.
Just happened to me 10 seconds ago.
WEJO .... YOU GOT SOME 'SPLAININ' TO DO !!!!!!
Okay, here's the next question: what browser? What version? I'm on Mozilla 1.5.0.8. Just curious if we're looking a browser crack or a site issue. Personally, I'm shocked no one has defaced this site by now.
IE 6.0
I haven't downloaded IE7 since I've heard so many bad things about it.
I just got it too...with IE 7

If you don't mind me saying so, you have definitely been fed a bunch of propaganda regarding IE7. It is much more secure than IE6 could ever hope to be. Here's a tell-it-like-it-is review describing the pros & cons of IE7...

Thanks CG. I know you've said this before. I'll break down at some point and download it. Why do you think we're getting this popup?

You definitely aren't crazy. I usually stop by the LetsRun message boards at least twice and day, and I have seen this happen on two occasions precisely one week apart: today, and last Friday also.
My system is locked down rather thoroughly, but not compulsively so: I am running the Vista version of IE7 with "Protected Mode" on, using a standard privilege level account profile with both a hardware & software firewall.
Additionally, I am running Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition 10.2 for Vista, and on each occasion the AV client flagged this as a security risk called DriveCleaner. Here is the description from Symantec's web page...
http://securityresponse.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2006-062217-0726-99The bottom line is that it's definitely not a browser issue. It's something directly related to the LetsRun.com domain.
Got it with safari on OSX yesterday.
Macs are always ahead of PCs.

Macs rule.
Yep it happened to on the most recent firefox on my mac and on the recent firefox on my pc at work. Maybe I shouldn't be on letsrun at work, but when that Adult tracking shit comes up it scares the sh*t out of me.
I was surprised I got that on my mac because I've never had anything like that happen before.
yeah i've gotten it a couple of times in the last two days. once on my friend's vista running computer on firefox. once on a library computer with IE, once on my own computer with firefox 1.5 something. upgraded to 2.0 to hope to get rid of it.
ack, I got the "download this software to scan your system now" popup too. Very annoying.
me too-
IE7 on Vista Bizness
I just closed the tabs bc one of those "damned if you don't damned if you" do pop ups came up for System Doctor 2006.
Full system scan came up with nothing. Stupid Windows Defender didn't do squat though.
I'm beyond annoyed and pissed with what has happened here over the last 5min. There is no choice with these "security risk alerts" and they are completely annoying and inconvenient. I don't want to come to letsrun for this.
