I think a 2:15 Marathon makes Nate Jenkins a decent American

Mike,
Did you take Geography at Uconn because the top runner was from Kenya. Your bronze medalist is from Ethopia before stopping in Mexico to load up on EPO. Last I know they are not from the US and should be called"international"
Either start giving some clean americans some $$ or change the post to: Connecticut's Moonlight Run Attracts "Inter"National "fresh off their
drug ban" Talent.
Whats next? A bike/run relay with appearance money given and the headline stating "Come watch Tyler Hamilton/Regina Jacobs versus Floyd Landis/Eddy Hellybuck."
This will be my last post on this board. First off the race is a small town event and there are no appearance fees to hand out to runners. Drug testing was not an option this year as we again are a small budget race, we are looking into possibly having testing next year as we are USATF certified and sanctioned event. Most of the elite athletes that were entered into the race had to submit resumes and a performance standards form that had to be checked and cross referenced before they were let into the race. Alena Reta was a race day entry along with a few others. Those race day entries were not the athletes that I brought into the race. I worked with reputable managers and corporate New Balance to bring in Tom Nyariki, Paul Koech, Patrick Cheriyoit and Linus Maiyo. Also I have offered other American athletes invites such as Dan Wilson to the race and all declined based on their track schedule. I also did implement a program for "American" assistance. In addition I contacted all the Elite Development Clubs on the USATF site. Not only once but multiple times. The only runners who took advantage of this were Mario Macias, Nate Jenkins, Andre Laboy and Ramon Laboy all of which have run fast enough times to have been competitive in past years of the race. I will address the Uconn comment as I did in fact attend Uconn and did take geography. The only purpose of the post was to show some fast times at our small race. My apologies for not using international instead of national talent. Also I am not sure how the poster would know that information unless they were using a fake name. At any rate as I mentioned this will be my last post. Thanks you to those who have been supportive and I appreciate those who had constructive criticism.
don't disgrace Dan with your nonsense, or Sheffield for that matter.

Whats with the DNF on Saturday Dan?
To start with I have no fight here but from reading the posts here is what I think. The race director brought in one of the best fields you'll ever see for a $1,000 prize with no appearance money. The race reimbursed some travel money big deal. This race director deserves some congrats instead he is getting killed.
Mike,
Stick with what you're doing. It's just a nice race, period, and the great talent makes it even more special. One of my favorite races every year, for the course, the Friday night start time and the atmosphere afterward. Well done. Keep it going.
