Im a 15/8 guy. Due to injuries, my racing season snuck up on me and I wasn't able to build a proper base. I like to get up to a consistant 65-75 MPW for 3-4 months or so and train around 60. Sporadic injuries forced me to take two months off and then another two weeks a little later. I worked my way up to 40-50 MPW for the past two months, I'm very healthy but I'm about to hit my racing stint and I don't feel prepared. I'm thinking about just maintaining 50 and working out hard and just seeing what happens. I'm sure I could just focus a little more on the 8 since my base isn't there, but I still want to run a solid enough 15(3:47), however, i just opened with a 4 flat and am completely discouraged. Putting off the races isn't an option. Any advice?
