I'm a 20 year old male runner who has been running for a few years, with a 5K in the mid-17s and a sub-5 mile to my resume. I've noticed for a couple of years now that my heart rate is very high at the end of all of my runs, even easy ones. For example, I've counted my heart rate for 6 seconds at the end of a couple of my moderate runs and I've counted 24 on each of them, meaning that the HR is about 240. I'm thinking that my actual Max HR might even be higher than this. Does anyone have any advice as to what I should do? Is there a place in NJ that you guys recommend where I can get my max HR test done without being charged too much? And should I stick to the conventional max HR % ranges for my training runs? Thanks.
