About 20 grand for a 2003 mustang cobra 5 speed. 6 grand for a new SC pulley, upgraded fuel injection, and full exhaust.
and now you have about 500 hp to the wheels
Ah yes, but it is still just a Mustang.

Yeah, and it'll smoke the sh*t out of whatever non-$100,000+ car you're driving...
Only if the road you're racing on doesn't have corners.

I'll give you that...
Not that it's BAD...but it is overweight and not exactly as nimble as many of the others...

Flaggy, I've rented a Mini a few times, it's an incredible car. That BMW purr, drives fantastic, surprisingly roomy (yes it would be a great cross country drive.) I've taken the Mini out on a day when trees were being blown over by a storm, and the Mini drove straight and true on the freeway.
One thing for sure, you don't want to be in an accident in that thing. No Jaws of Life for you, they'll take you straight to the graveyard and bury you in it.
Malmo,
Yeah, those small cars (my Saturn included) creep me out on the highway. High speed crash or getting hit by a semi...be very lucky to be alive.
Still, just for tooling around town, I'd consider getting a Mini Cooper. I almost never drive my Saturn on the highway anymore. I take the van to gigs.
