There's absolutely no chance whatsoever that we'll boycott Beijing. And there certainly won't be any widespread European boycott....
What about teh Next presidet? He get elected in 2008 and Maybe he's feel difrently?
Boycott Nike and Walmart over China/Sudan, but don't punish the athletes.

I was worried about this until "I love peeps" posted predicting it. Now I can rest easy knowing it has no chance of happening.
Yeah, somehow I don't think the next President, when he takes office in January of 2009, will have much to say about the 2008 Olympics. Of course, I am just spitballin' here.

Many Euro-based petrol companies, like TOTAL, have contracts with the Sudanese government. None are as large as the concessions to Sinopec, but they are still substantial. There will not be a boycott.
Boycotts in the past accomplished nothing except the ruination of athletic careers, and that's well-established. Considering how financially intertwined all nations are as compared with even the 1980s, there's just not going to be a boycott. The IOC gave Beijing the Olympics knowing full well what kind of government they had.

I don't think China should be the subject of an Olympic boycott over Darfur. China is not responsible for what is happening in Darfur. They could be more helpful in pressuring Khartoum, but that does not meet the Olympics Boycott threshhold, in my opinion.
Yeah, that's a funny one. Because the nations of the world all give a giant shite about the people of Darfur. After that, we'll all get together to stop global warming. Then we'll end poverty.
