I get the good ol'
"Have you run a marathon?"
followed shortly by
"will you ever run a marathon?"
being from new england i also get,
"are you gonna run the Boston Marathon someday?"

"what's your mile time?"
"Why are you so much sexier than the rest of us?"
"you're going to ruin your knees."
That drives me nuts. Football and basketball players are so much more susceptible to knee injuries. Soft tissue injuries on the other hand.....
That's not a question.
Did you go jogging today?
Or, if it's cold/raining and someone is huddled near the ashtray in the outside smoking area . . . You went jogging today? You're a nut to jog in the rain!
You're right!
Rephrased -- "How are your knees?"
"So what do you do for practice, just run?"
Are you anorexic?
"what do you think about while youre running/racing?"
i like it when people ask this question, because if its in regards to a race, i take it as implying that they just day dream during a race or are thinking about things that have nothing to do with the race, like how they look or who's watching them or what's going to happen on the oc tonight. i'm kind of dumbfounded when people have asked me this in the past, because my answer is always 'the race'.
"Did you run here?"
How far is that marathon you're doing?
I get a lot of:
"How can you just run?"
Ummmm, one foot in front of the other...
"do you run for fun?"

I love that one!
Usually something asinine like "What are you running from?"
To which I repl;y "My sport is your sport's punishment."
"So when you race the mile, is it just like an all out sprint the entire way?"
-no
"o so you still have some left when you finish?"
-no
how long is a marathon?

I say, "I'm running from people like you."
Have you heard of this guy who ran, like, 100 marathons in a row or something?
