Why is a JV meet getting this kind of attention?

Olympic gold medalists (Wariner, Felix, Campbell) competing and World Championships gold medalists (Defar, Lee, Ferguson) competing and it's a JV meet? Plus, it's a great tune up for U.S. Nationals and the WAT. How is it a JV meet?

The athletes mentioned are there due to obligation to the sponsor. Bet all of them win, too.

who will be headlining this year? personally I'd rather see Rihanna than Bow Wow

for a few very obvious reasons. if you took time to think you would realize a few things:

1. professional meet on US soil.....not too many of those around especially in the outdoor season

2. this meet is loaded with US athletes. this is an american dominated board that is interested in american runners (duh) so it is only natural that people get excited over a meet like this. its not the pre classic by any means but it gathers a lot of good talent, primarily american.

Wariner will likely win.

Defar will likely win.

Felix will likely win, but she'll be pressed more than Wariner and Defar.

The other stars and top-ranked runners will likely win because, well, they're stars and top-ranked runners. Winning is what they do.

To answer the inquiry about why the meet gets so much attention, you have to credit the promoters for doing a good job of marketing it.

Frankly, I wish there were more meets like it in the U.S. during the Summer -- with a condensed format of approx. 2 hours and athletics superstars competing. I'd love to see a meet like this at Cobb Field, Sacramento State's Track, Drake Stadium, 2-3 more like it at Hayward Field, Kezar Stadium, USC's track in So. Cal., and 2-3 more at Carson.

although this meet is probably written into fam\'s contract, he seems to be racing an awful lot this spring.
