Has anyone tried the Nike Air Zoom Spiridon? And what do ya'll think about it.

Unless you are really light on your feet and a definite heel striker, I think the Spiridon is not that great a shoe. The forefoot is like a rock, despite it's flexibility. However, in the fall an update is coming out that I actually found on Ebay (unfortunately, I'm a 9 and the shoe on Ebay is a 10, so I gotta wait til Oct.) The forefoot looks a lot more substantial. Check out this link for a preview of the Zoom Swift I'm referring to.

yeah, the Swift and Swift Vapor will both be more substantial and should be better.
If you need support but want a lighter shoe, they're reintroducing the Zoom Elite in a month too.
I got a pair of the Air Zoom Spiridon's in May to demo for a magazine writeup. Did not like the initital feel (or the look), felt the arch was too prominent. Less than 1k into my first run they felt fine. I disagree that these are more for a heel striker. I think the air heel unit looks more prominent than it runs. One thing I've noticed is that the size/shape of the air heel chamber seems to help me get my foot to neutral quickly.
The outsole has proven more durable than I expected upon first look. I've got about 325 miles on them, plenty of life left. I'm not real light either (165lbs), but I think I run pretty efficiently. The areas I'm seeing above normal wear are right off the toes (sole), and the mesh on the side of the upper on the inside just behind my big toes. I pretty much tore that area out in about 200 miles but it hasn't been too annoying.
I really really like those deep grooves in the forefoot. Have been looking for something like that in trainers for years.
Where do you coach?
I am a toe runner, 100 lbs. and these are the best shoes I have ever placed on my foot. For myself, the heavy shoes with the thick heels just don't work. I feel like my foot has full range of motion, that it can go to neutral and resupinate - unlike what happens with most shoes.
I have waited a long time for shoes like these.
