In Europe, the Hayward is called the Skylon, I guess it is the "new" model, even though they seem pretty different.
2007 Skylon ~ 2005 Hayward
The Skylon was called Hayward only in America, probably as part of the 'Pre' marketing theme of the last few years. It's already gone through two update cycles, so the new Skylon is bound to be slightly different from the original Hayward of two years ago. And very very different from the old pre-Hayward Skylons.
My first Skylons were the ones with the red sole and white upper. Next came the red sole and silver upper. After that, I bought 4 pairs total of the Skylon 3's, 2 yellow ones, 1 white, and 1 blue (blue ones are still active). I also bought the Haywards because I heard that they weren't making the Skylons anymore, and I wanted to continue with the most similar shoe offered. The Hayward's heel is raised slightly higher, and the forefoot has slightly more cushioning. I still like the Skylons better, but the Hayward isn't a bad shoe. Looking forward to the Skylon 4, though.
thanks, the color description(I know exactly which one's you are discribing) actually make this clearer than using the shoe name & year!!!
The Hayward has been dropped from Nike's line and will be replaced with the new Skylon this July.
The new Skylon is awesome. I tried it on and got to run around in it a little. I can't wait till it is released on July 1st. It feels similar to the Hayward, but the fit of the upper is much nicer. Really hugs your foot. It will be the best lighter weight neutral shoe ever made.

Here are lots of cheap Skylons in England for sale on ebay.co.uk. This seems to be a current colorway...
