I don't get it. I was in high school at the time this was set, saw Aerosmith in concert several times, and yet that movie was one of the worst I've ever seen. Didn't even crack a smile more than once or twice.

Maybe you just don't have a sense of humor.

He might not have a sense of humor but he's right about D&C. Aside from a couple of really quotable lines, this movie really isn't particularly funny at all.

"Old School" = funny

"Napoleon Dynamite" = funny

"Blazing Saddles" = funny

"Dazed and Confused" = Not so much

You consider Napoleon Dynamite funny and not Dazed and Confused?

Funny: Borat, Something about Mary, Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle, Shaun of the Dead, Spinal Tap, the first Wayne's World, Naked Gun, Airplane, Austin Powers, American Pie, etc.

Not Funny: Most of the sequels to the above, Clerks 2, Dazed and Confused, Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World (this might be the worst movie I have ever seen period), Corky Romano, any recent National Lampoon movie, pretty much anything with Hugh Grant ...

WOW.

Dazed and Confused is more of just a period piece than a comedy. It's both but less the latter than the former.

ND is definitely a comedy. Every situation, every character, every line in ND is ridiculous. D&C really just has some very quotable lines.

We are on the same page.

I'm embarrassed to admit, as student of film, that I have never seen this. Does anyone have it on Criterion? Is it worth the $$$?
