I've been running in the Asics Speedstar with success. However, I don't like the Duosole outsole because it tends to accumulate excessive debris.
Is the Adidas Adizero LT a similar category of shoe? My concern is that it's more of a racing flat than trainer. Since the Speedstar is enough shoe for me, would the Adizero be similar?

I bought the LTs. DIdn't like them at all. Light yes but they have a lot of heel cushioning and not enough in the forefoot. If you are a heel striker, you might like them.
I never tried the Speedstar so I have no basis for comparison there, sorry. I do have the Adizero RC's however and they are a VERY different shoe.
Yeow. How many different Adizero models are there? I've got a pair of Adizero CS and they're a decent lightweight shoe (not for those in need of lots of stability).
You could maybe check out the Puma Prevail. I was running in the Speedstar for a while but grew tired of how loud the shoe was and how poorly the DuoSole gripped the road when changing directions. The Prevail is slightly heavier, but I have been very pleased with the shoe overall.
I have both. 1 race & 1 workout in the speedstar....a bit clunky but lots of cushion, like it but will use it for 1/2mar & marathon.
Adizero LT I bought online by it's looks...it's always a crap shoot anyway! They are junk...no forfoot cushioning, I haven't even tried them out....if you're a 10 1/2 I'll make you a deal. They are not even comparable shoes.
I would suggest the Adidas Supernova Light6...nice shoe, comparable cushion/weight and will be good for 1/2mar & mar....fit narrower than most Adidas shoes though.
I've put lots of training miles in the adizero LT. Actually, I think they are quite ok. The Speedstar has a thicker, softer midsole. Actually, the new Response Light is a simple, neutral, lightweight racer/trainer. By the way, the new Mizuno Wave Precision (due in July) will rock as a lightweight trainer.
I tried on the LT and agree that it was all heel cushion.
So, I\'m interested in the RC. If I run injury free in the Speedstar, would the RC require much of a transition?
The RC is lighter and lower, so you will definitely feel the ground a little more. I actually preferred the RC because the upper was lighter. Since you have the Speedstar, you might also be interested in the Asics Hyper Speed, as it will also be lighter and lower than the Speedstar.
