he's a great runner and im not one to usually nit pick on personal things but man, he talks like a wigger.

Well, you write like a moron, but I'm not one to nit pick either.
Crawl back to your hole racist.
wow to be honest i totally agree, he sounds like an idiot in that interview. there is one point where he laughs and sticks his tongue out of the side of his mouth and just looks like a fool. he really did sounds like a football or basketball player at some points in his interview. he's a fast fast kid, and unbelievable, but man, i couldn't stand listening to him talk.
If I had not known who he was, I'd guess would guess he's 15 or 16 years old. shit man, that kid looks young. he needs to start enjoying college.
or maybe black people sound like Rupp? i mean seriously nobody owns any particular dialect. For all we know this nucca grew up around a lot of black people or something. what does it matter how it talks like? Im pretty sure if he heard you talk hed think you sounded like a douchebag also.
wow i sounded kinda retarded in some parts of my post...anywho you get the point. i think you guys are just desperate to find something to bash him about cause hes been interviewed before and this is the first time you guys got a hard-on for it.
Is it worth watching? Or just lame?
the whole interview he sounded like a younger Kobe Bryant.
I just like the part when the interviewer ask Rupp to expalin the specifics behind his training and Rupp says "I don't know if I can give away my playbook hahaha" I wonder....I wonder!

So true.
How would you define "wigger"? I don't think you know what you're talking about.
Portland has its share of pathetic white urban/suburban eminem wannabe's. Sounds like gruppy hasn't matured much since hs.
Maybe I should watch the interview... on second thought, maybe not.
Rupp's an extraordinarily talented and hard working runner. Also a nice kid, but those that know him realize he isn't one of the brightest kids on the block. The video shows that. He's attending U of Oregon, not Harvard! Not that UO isn't a good university, just that UO makes accomodations for top athletes like most colleges. This shouldn't be surprising.
Great post! If any of you have actually had a conversation with Galen, you'd quickly realize how....goofy he is, def not the brightest star in the sky! I realized this after hanging out with him while we were in Califonia for FL Nats in 2003, the guy is just plain goofy!

ok, he's not the most articulate guy on the block. needs to enunciate a little better.
but what is this? let'sdiscussspeechcommunications.com?
Seriously, you people are all scum. With the original poster being the worst type.
Was it even worth starting a thread aimed at seeking out negative comments?
What did you want to achieve?
So his voice is different, hell so is everyones.
So he's a little bit goofy, hardly a fault.
If you knew him you find he is great guy, no acting, no pretending, not intention of coming across arrogant.
Plenty of humility and respect.
Personally i thought the content of what he said was great. To be interviewed for public viewing straight after the best race of your career would be tough, tough to contain the excitement and adrenaline that he would be experiencing.
So just lay off the kid and appreciate his ability and what he brings to our sport.
Tall poppy syndrome at its worst.
Flocast: "Speaking generally, what are some things you're doing that are helping?"
Rupp: "You know I just think in terms of doing lots of drugs an...its extra stuff..."
