in my case, i use the yard of my home to train in. it has 7 turns contained in 141 meters total, and i run around it 14 times right now finishing in about 12:30. how much of an effect should that many turns have on my 2000 meter time, which is approximately how far my 14 laps are. i just started running 3 weeks ago, jogging rather, to lose weight. its basically grass the whole way, and 1 incline, about 6 meters long, 2 feet high.
i guess the most important thing is how much time do the turns zap from my time, if any.
